Match Report: PH v Finham

It’s bonfire night! What’s the only thing that can make it better?! FOOTBALL!

As always, Park Hill knew it would be a competitive match against Finham and we weren’t surprised.

Some children stepped in to make their debut for the school and we saw some fantastic individual performances as a result! Nathan Hibberd very unlucky not to have come away with a clean sheet. He made some fantastic saves when needed throughout the match. The Year 5’s, including Jacob Halpin,  Tom Abbott and Jack Wade who made a great impact to the game when they came on along with Owen Thomas (he ended up bagging a brace!).

Early on, Park Hill asserted their dominance on the game and some fantastic play from Elliot Watts, Alex Good and Charlie Blakemore saw the boys race into a 2-0 lead. Resiliently, Finham fought back with some chances of their own, but the boys did well to retain control of the game.

After half time, Park Hill continued to dominate and win the ball high up the pitch. Inevitably, some more well worked goals went in. Credit to all of the boys, they kept the ball moving and worked it into some good positions that led to goals. Some flurries of good play from Finham showed us what they were really capable of and they worked themselves up the pitch and grabbed a consolation goal. A late surge from Park Hill resulted in some more goals going in to round of a good performance.

A fantastic game played in good spirit. Thank you to Mr Tickle from Finham for bringing the team over and we wish them the best of luck for the rest of the year.
