COMMENT FROM OFSTED

“Pupils agree strongly that everyone gets on very well together and they would recommend this school to new families.”

Uniform

School dress at Park Hill is a colour combination of navy, white and grey which make up our school uniform.

Pupils are strongly encouraged to wear uniform which we feel adds a sense of identity to the school.

Attendance

We work in partnership with the Local Authority Attendance team in order to monitor all absences and lateness of all children in school. Across the school, whole school attendance is usually between 96% – 97% throughout the year. The Pastoral Team at Park Hill meet half termly to review all children. Where attendance is below 95%, we will usually write to parents to make them aware. If the attendance figure is significantly low, an Educational Welfare Officer from Coventry City Council will usually make contact to discuss issues.

Please remember that you have a legal duty to send your child to school every day.

APPLYING FOR A PLACE

Admission criteria for nursery places in a Coventry City Council community school

If there are more applications than places for any nursery classes we will use the following criteria, in the priority order 1 to 3, to decide which children we will offer places to.

Admission criteria

Priority 1 Children who are in the care of the local authority
Priority 2 Children who have a sibling (brother or sister) at the school when that child is due to start school.
Priority 3 Children who live closest to the school, measured in kilometres in a straight line (as the crow flies).

You cannot appeal against decisions made about nursery places.

(Nursery is not compulsory school age and we only have 52 places available so unfortunately due to overcrowding in this area we are unable guarantee your child a place.)
