For the first time in Park Hill history two Year Two children have been given a pen licence. Take a look at their AMAZING work!

Copper Coin Race

Thank you all for the donations of Copper Coins at the end of last term to help support our funding for the mini-pitch. It has taken a lot of counting, but Mrs Plant and her ‘Plant’s Angels’ have been working around the clock (break and lunchtimes) to count every last coin. The final total is… […]

Copper Coin Collection!

Wow-thank you for your generosity in bringing in copper coins today for our race. Well done 4H on winning, but what an epic effort by all! Thank you all so much… it may take a long time to count, but it’s very much appreciated for our mini pitch fund!

All weather pitch fund raising

Yesterday, we set up or ‘neighbourly’ page for our new all weather pitch (it’s similar to a ‘just giving’ page). Please use the link below and sign up and ‘follow’ us, as well as sharing it with your family and friends, as the higher our ‘activity score’, the more attractive we are to businesses and […]

Fund Raising Bike Ride

As part of the fundraising for the new sports pitch, we are organising a bike ride from Park Hill to Wembley, as it is the FA who provide the majority of the cost. We would like to invite as many people as possible, no matter what their experience, to cycle the 110 miles on Saturday […]

Our School Values

The school year began in September with an INSET day for staff and governors where we looked at what we felt Park Hill stood for and how this influenced the ethos of our school. We discussed qualities and values that we felt were important to develop in our pupils. As part of this consultation process, […]

School closed- Monday 11th December

Due to the snow, school will be closed tomorrow to ensure the safety of our children and staff. We hope the children are enjoying the weather!

Premier League Primary Stars

Today, Mr Hammond and Mr Lawrence went to learn about some projects the Premier League Primary Stars have designed to help support Reading, Writing and Maths. Some children will be chosen to take part in exciting Reading groups over the coming weeks, and there is also a poetry competition we would like every child to […]

Perfect Pen Pals

Today, the talented Year 4 boys writing group met for their first official lesson. They enjoy writing adventure and ‘gruesome’ tales, and they showed this today with a very vicious story- look at how much they have written! They used pen for the first time and the results are fantastic. The Perfect Pen Pals are […]

Read Write Inc. Parents meeting

This evening, Miss Norcliffe has explained and described RWI lessons and how children learn Phonics at Park Hill. It was great to see so many parents attend, supported by many of the KS1 and Earky Years teachers. We hope you have a clear understanding of our phonics teaching, and have some useful tips as to […]

SPENCER – Half term Champions!

Tomorrow morning, Spencer will be celebrating their first victory of the year (and the first of many!), when they watch the Lego Batman Movie!

Pumpkin competition winners

thank you for all of your entries… here are the winners!

Halloween fun

thank you to all of the children who entered the PTA pumpkin competition. Mrs Timms was extremely happy to see so many entries (and it even scared some of us every time we walked past!). The winners will be revealed in Friday’s star of the week assembly.

The return of Year 6!

It was great to meet the exhausted children and staff from the coach after a memorable few days at Dol y Moch. A big ‘thank you’ to the staff and Sean, who all gave up their weekends to make special memories with the children.

Staff Learning

On Wednesday evening, all of the teachers met to discuss writing at Park Hill. Together, we wanted to think about how we can help remove barriers for children and to help them to make as much progress as possible in their learning – especially with writing. It was a great opportunity for staff to share […]

Learning Walk

Yesterday morning, it was good to walk around the school and visit the classrooms. Mrs King, Mr Lawrence and myself were interested in learning more about how the children are being supported to learn in their classroom. I was pleased to speak with the children and to know that when they are stuck and finding […]

House PE kits

The children look amazing in their new PE kits… it’s great that the children can easily identify those in the same house as them and can compete against the others. 6F look awesome!

New Families

It was a very special day over in Preschool today. The parents of all children attending our preschool next week were invited into school to meet their key worker and to take a look at their new environment. The staff were delighted to meet new parents and were proud to welcome them all to our […]

Friday Lunchtime

I think that I speak for so many children when I say that Friday lunchtime has to be the best! Every Friday, the most popular choice among the children  is Pizza! We usually have 2 members of staff on lunchtime duty but on a Friday there are about 5 – I wonder why this is? […]

Our Amazing New Preschool

Over the last two months, the staff have been unbelievably busy creating a brand new Preschool at Park Hill Primary School. I am so proud of how hard they have worked and just what fabulous learning spaces that they have created.

School Uniform

It was fantastic to welcome the children back into school this morning – they all looked fabulously smart in their new school uniform. I would like to thank you for your support of the changes to school uniform.

The first day…

We are absolutely delighted to welcome the children back to Park Hill today and seeing how amazing they look in their new uniforms! After getting to know their new teachers, the children have had assembly with Mr Griffin, before returning to their classrooms. The children have described their Summer Holidays… what an amazing range of […]

I was very much looking forward to my six weeks holiday because I was going to Lanzarote for two weeks. I had a wonderful time with 14 days of sunshine and spent most of my days playing water-volley or water polo, reading and taking full advantage of the all inclusive menu. I now need […]
