Summer 1 Sports Fixtures

It’s a short half term with only 4 weeks in total, but that hasn’t stopped us from packing in sports fixtures and tournaments!

Last week, Finham Primary came to Park Hill to play a double header (benchball and football). Miss Nickerson supported a group of Y4 children indoors, where there was a fantastic, competitive game of benchball and I supported some of our Y6 children in a 5-a-side game on our mini pitch. Brilliant performance by both teams resulted in two wins!

On Friday 3rd, Mr Freeman took the Y5/6 football team to St John’s Primary School for the Ben Whelan Quarter Final, where they won 3-2! They will now play Wyken Croft at home next Thursday (16th May).

On Tuesday 7th, I took five Y2 pupils to a football competiton at the Alan Higgs Centre hosted by Sky Blues Academy. After two wins in our group, the boys progressed to the final where they won 2-1 against St Christophers. This meant a final against Moseley was standing in the way, however the boys just fell short and came runners up. Well done to Oliver, Mustafa, Ollie, Rhys and Dylan.

Following this, on Thursday 9th, Moseley came over to Park Hill for a netball & football double header. Y4 pupils played a 5-a-side match on the mini pitch, whilst Mrs King held a netball league match on the playground. A fantastic effort from both teams in wet weather conditions!

Coming up, there is a Y3 mini pitch match v Templars, our Ben Whelan quarter final v Wyken Croft, a Y5 mini pitch match v Earlsdon, a netball match v Stoke Heath and a Y4 mini pitch match v Earlsdon.

Good luck to all of our teams and thank you to the additional staff from school for their support.

Mr Hammond
