Year 6 look at law!

This morning, Year Six were visited by the magistrates court. We learnt all about how the courts work and the different types of court we use in the British Legal System. We found out about the different types of punishment people can receive for different crimes committed. Did you know that now, at the age of ten, we are criminally responsible for our actions!

As a class, we acted out our own court. We now understand the different roles of people in the courts such as prosecutors, magistrates, defence, ushers and legal advisors. We also played the roles of court reporters and artists sketching the court scene. A great morning!
